This award is given to employees who "perform tasks above normal work performance, demonstrate consistently good work and dedication to the position" and, most importantly, complete their job in an exemplary way.
Congratulations! Alex White received the Certificate of Teaching Excellence for 2007. The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences selects one faculty member each year as its recipient of the Certificate of Teaching Excellence. Congratulations to Mike Ellerbrock, David Kohl, and Dixie Reaves for recent publishing chapters in Teaching Excellence at a Research-Centered University; Energy, Empathy, and Engagement in the Classroom. Each is a member of the Academy of Teaching Excellence (ATE) at Virginia Tech that consists of more than 100 active members, and each has received at least one university-wide teaching award. Their chapters are among the 39 first-rate essays by award-winning teachers representing a broad range of university disciplines, departments, and colleges that are featured in this book.

Congratulations to the Alex Miller, AAEC Graduate Student and Co-Chair for the 2007 Envirofusion week at Virginia Tech, was invited to The Deans' Forum on the Environment, due to his active role in organizing events this spring and working with Virginia Tech administration to improve energy efficiency and general environmental issues here at Virginia Tech.
