Potential Impacts of Pharmaceutical Uses of Transgenic Tobacco: The Case of Human Serum Albumin (HSA)
The potential size and distribution of benefits from transgenic tobacco as a source of human serum albumin are estimated using an economic surplus model with imperfect competition. Results suggest that new products from bio-pharming stand to generate significant social benefits.

This paper reports on a multi-format survey conducted in the Philippines. The sample consists of of key stakeholders from various sectors of society, based on individuals’ roles in national agricultural debates, and on their influence in shaping public opinion.
